Dear Phillip,
There are a couple of reasons why multi-generational ranches sell. The most common is that the last generation is ready to retire, and no one in the family wants to take the ranch over. Another common reason these ranches decide to sell is because of high-interest rates and low commodity prices. Making a living off the land is a labor of love. Some years are lucrative, and others are difficult to keep the lights on.
While Fay Ranches does not currently sell property in Ohio, our agents are more than happy to discuss their market with you, as there are many geographical differences considered with selling property. I encourage you to read more of our articles on our Land Investor Guide website and to contact me or our team with any questions.
